Now called "The Traditional Game Ball of the AVP" this is the ball the AVP used before it went with the international rules. It has 18 hand sewn premium select full-grain leather panels and a two-ply rotationally molded bladder. It is soft, stays round and handles and feels like a beach volleyball should.
Hand stitched 18 panel raised-seam construction provides ultimate feel and control. Rotationally molded urethane bladder generates superior ball response, promotes true ball flight, and gives maximum shot-shaping control.
This is the new, for 2008, AVP game ball. It is mechanically the same as the old AVP ball, only the graphics have changed. We have a good supply of these balls on hand, but we also think there might be a shortage of these balls this year. Sometimes Wilson doesn't have enough balls in the pipeline. An increase in price will be the sign that supplies are getting tight.
This is the Official ball of: California Beach Volleyball Association, USA Volleyball, Seaside, Motherload, Estero Beach, Six Man & Toyota East. We compared one of these to one of the Wilson AVP balls. We don't think you will notice enough difference in play that it would take an adjustment, like going from composite to leather.

This is the ball the FIVB uses on their Beach Volleyball World Tour. It will be used for the 2008 Olympic Games. It is as light as the Wilson AVP ball, WTH4308, but not as bouncy.
